In 1989, Poongsan Corporation, one of the largest manufacturers of non-ferrous products in the world, began to look for the perfect location in the U.S. to continue its long standing tradition of copper metal manufacture. They discovered Cedar Rapids; a growing community nestled in the rolling hills of Iowa, on the banks of the Cedar River. It was a modest city known for its friendly, hard-working people, beautiful surroundings and exceptional quality of life.
