The manufacture of copper metals begins in the casting shop. Virgin metal and recycled scrap material are melted and cast by skilled technicians to create large, rectangular slabs. Weighing up to eleven metric tons, these slabs are dye checked, inspected, bar coded and then sent to the Slab Furnace.
